Four habits that keep Adelaide paint in good condition

Between professional treatments, four ordinary habits do most of the work of keeping a clear coat intact.

Swirl marks visible on black paint under an inspection light before paint correction in Adelaide

Leaving an expensive car outside through a cold, foggy Adelaide winter is hard on the exterior paint. Prolonged exposure washes the colour out and starts the early stages of corrosion. Park on the street and the unprotected panels collect bird waste, scrapes, and whatever else the week throws at them. All of it damages paint, and the longer it sits the harder the fix gets.

Between professional treatments, four ordinary habits carry most of the load.

  1. 01 Rinse it regularly Wash weekly so dirt and debris do not accumulate on the surface. The longer grime sits, the further it works into the paint and the harder it becomes to remove.
  2. 02 Dry it straight after Hand-dry the surface promptly after washing so grime does not settle straight back on. If you are on hard water, drying also stops salt deposits building up.
  3. 03 Wax it Wax adds a layer against dirt and dust, and some defence against the summer sun.
  4. 04 Garage it where you can Undercover parking keeps needless dirt off the car and cuts the hours of direct sunlight it takes.

None of this replaces a proper coating, and none of it removes damage already in the clear coat. It does slow the rate at which a good finish degrades between visits. If you want to know where your paint currently sits, call 1300 605 531 and we will look at it under proper lighting.
